The Wolfe Pack

I guess the prophecy I made about feeling better wasn't self-fulfiling. Damn it. Also, I blew my nose and my left ear just sort of made this squeak sound and screwed up my hearing. Balance is off, it sounds like everything comes from the right. It's not as bad as when I went to sleep. Anyone have any tips for fixing it? I have tried yawning obviously, and chewing, and all the tips for getting water out of your ear, but nothing's working so far. At least the fever is still gone, and I do feel somewhat better, but not as much as I was hoping.

@storm Drinking warm liquids and allowing steam to hit your nose will probably help. Works for me. You can put a towel over your head and put your face near (But not in!) a bowl of really hot water. Taking a shower also works. Swallow often, it pressurizes your ears. You'll know if you hear a pop. Also don't even waste your time with the getting water out tactics. It's not water so it won't work. The blockage is in the Eustachian tube, which connects your ear to the back of your throat. Just give it time, focus on clearing out your nose/throat and take some alergy medicine. I get these every few months, they're horrible. But I've never been able to rush this stuff unfortunately. It's just going to have to run it's course. If it's been going for three or four days now or improving you'll be fine in the next few days. When I get this stuff it lasts about a week most times.

@storm I had this problem with my right ear and everything sounded completely off. I don't know what to do other than to try popping your ear open if you can. Have you tried holding your nose and gently blowing with your nose closed? They say that is a good way to get rid of that weird feeling but it did not work for me, though I have Eustachian tube dysfunction and have had it ever since I was born, so I may not be helping you, but I thought i'd give you some suggestions.
