Storm Dragon pushed changes to the master branch of the linux-game-manager project Instead of Project Brutality only death match, we now have custom death match which lets you select your own game mod to use.

Storm Dragon pushed changes to the master branch of the linux-game-manager project Massive rewrite of how speaking with TTS is handled. This should open up compatibility with pretty much every wad out there as far as TTS is concerned. There may be unwanted speech until everything is ironed out.

@blindbat84 Awesome, I am glad you're feeling better and don't have whatever it is that's going around now. Trying to get work done while sick is terrible.

Storm Dragon pushed changes to the master branch of the linux-game-manager project Updates to the installer for Doom and the launcher scripts for custom games contain Project Brutality. Some manual intervention is required if you do not want to reinstall. See https://forum.audiogames.net/post/863139/#p863139 for details.

@blindbat84 there's a nasty virus going around. We've been passing it back and forth for a month or more. That's how it starts. You might wanna stock up on NyQuil lol.

[Book Review] Witchcraft on a Shoestring takes the reader through a fun and engaging journey of magical practices that don’t require expensive tools or materials. Readers will have a magical time creating spells, divinations, and even recipes that cost little to no money, which reminds us that we don’t need fancy items to practice the Craft; all we need is a little imagination!

I saw a big barn full of Hay! I asked the farmer who all that Hay was for?
He said, the Cattle eat it!
Wow!, I said. That is one hungry Cat!

@sektor @Blobsta "" usually means empty string. If for some reason it didn't, you could try " " which would replace the string with a single space.

@baethyn I tried type interrupt and it didn't do exactly what I wanted, because Control is one of the keys I use to play the game. I did find the solution though. If something is using the nvdaControllerClient and you don't want speech interrupted on key presses, put #nvda in sleep mode, NVDA+Shift+s. It worked quite awesomely.

I have been working the past few days to get text to speech support in Toby Doom on Windows. I have been successful for the most part, and there's now a powershell script that uses nvdaControllerClient.dll. If interested, more information on the audiogames.net forum.

I seem to remember hearing that #nvda has a mode you can use for games where the speech isn't interrupted if you are holding a key when it says something. Anyone know how to activate this mode if it exists?

@sektor @Lironah No, it's mostly in the experimental stage at this point, plus with eh problems introduced by wine 9.X, I'm not sure it would even work any more. I think there's a script in AGM to set up nvda in a bottle.

@sektor @Lironah NVDA works, but it requires some hoop jumping. The main problem with AGM, is how to get the wine instance to stop after the game ends, because, NVDA is still a running process so it remains open.

I have been working on getting Toby Doom using TTS in Windows. Using Powershell, and it is actually coming along quite nicely. Powershell has some nifty features. It's not bash, but not too bad nonetheless. To follow progress, there is this topic on the audiogames.net forum.
