@sektor There was something I had to do with gpu drivers I think it was. I had problems getting Doom working, and I did find a solution. I'll check into it, finding the solution was harder than implementing it.
I was very sad to hear the news related to AppleVis yesterday. This site has been a huge resource for the last 14 years.
In 2010 I created a blog called the iAccessibility Report to review iOS apps for accessibility as well, and that site is now just called iAccessibility. iAccessibility is being built to have many of the same community features as AppleVis, so that we can continue to provide resources to those who are wanting to learn more about iOS, and Apple products. In case you needed further proof that the human race
is doomed through stupidity, here are some actual
label instructions on consumer goods.
On a Sear's hairdryer:
"Do not use while sleeping."
(Gee that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)
On a bag of Fritos:
"You could be a winner! No purchase necessary.
Details inside."
(The shoplifter special)
On a bar of Dial soap:
"Directions: Use like regular soap."
(And that would be how ...?)
On some Swanson frozen dinners:
"Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(But its "just" a suggestion)
On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom):
"Do not turn upside down."
(Too late!)
Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
"Product will be hot after heating."
(As night follows day . . .)
On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
"Do not iron clothes on body."
(But wouldn't this save me more time?)
On Boot's Children Cough Medicine:
"Do not drive a car or operate machinery after
taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of
construction accidents if we, could just get those
5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)
On Nytol Sleep Aid:
"Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(One would hope.)
On most brands of Christmas lights:
"For indoor or outdoor use only."
(As opposed to what?)
On a Japanese food processor:
"Not to be used for the other use."
(I gotta admit, I'm curious.)
On Sainsbury's peanuts:
"Warning: contains nuts."
(Talk about a news flash.)
On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
"Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
( Step 3: Fly Delta.)
On a child's superman costume:
"Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame parents for this
one.)
On a Swedish chainsaw:
"Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or
genitals."
(Was there a lot of this happening somewhere? My
God!)
Not sure how many Survive the Wild players are on my timeline, but Sam Tupy, the game's developer, just posted this blog post announcing it's coming to an end. https://samtupy.com/blog/2024/07/stw-late-july-update/

A quick search on lore.kernel.org:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/?q=goo.gl%2F
...turns up about 19,000 messages with affected links. That's a lot of history that is going to become harder (or impossible) to find.
It was an easy move from installing air conditioning units to being a Chief Information Officer.
Both jobs are all about losing efficiency when people start opening windows.
@newsyc250 That is very cool. She did a great job. My only small suggestion is to teach her about the alt tag for adding discriptions for her awesome pictures.

Dear #blind and #visually_impaired Fedi friends, I hope I can ask you all a question. I am a #writer researching a good publishing plan.
#Accessibility is essential, and I wonder what the modern preferred format for blind readers of self-published or indie novels is.
Additionally, what would your advice be on making #writing more accessible to people who are blind when self-publishing a novel?
Please boost for reach.
re: Complaining about Dropbox
@kev for just syncing file between your personal computers, you could use syncthing. Set it up on each computer, share keys betwen computers, set up shared directories, and that's it. So long as you have the service running, files will share between devices.
Daily fortune
They had worked for months gathering one each of every computer that was
built. Finally the big day was at hand. All the computers were linked
together. They asked the question, "Is there a God?". Lights started
blinking, flashing and blinking some more. Suddenly, there was a loud
crash, and a bolt of lightning came down from the sky, struck the
computers, and welded all the connections permanently together. "There
is now", came the reply.
